Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hindu, Judaism: All are different religions for different people. For each of these religions, there are traditions, customs, and unique gift that state the religion. For the Judaism there is the Judaica.
But
first let us explain:
What is Judaica?
Judaica is a collection of old and contemporary jewish art and jewish related artifacts, and also religios objects like:
· Tallit – a Jewish Prayer Shawl
· Mezuzah
· Tefillin
· Tzdaka Boxes
· Kippah – Yarmulke
· Shabbat candle holders
And the list can continue on and on…
Jewish Events
We shall discuss here about the articles that are considered to be Jewish Gifts rather than the religious items. Throughout the Jewish lifeycle, there are several events that are a milestones:
· A bris – for each Jewish boy that reaches to the age of 8 days, a circumcision in being done
· Bar / Bat Mitzvah – for each girl that reaches the age of 12 and a boy that reaches the age of 13, there is a ceremony that express the transition of her/him from a girl to a woman and from a boy to a Man.
· Jewish Wedding – a ceremony that withhold with a chupa, where a Jewish man and woman get married.
For each of the above milestones there are appropriate Jewish gifts. You can find a great gift in the closest Judaica store near you.
What Jewish gift should you look for?
Well, of course that it depends on the actual person or couple: for a Bat / Bar Mitzvah you can bring a nice silk Tallit set or a Torah Pointer (an artifacts tat is used to follow the torah words in the synagogue), for a Jewish wedding a nice Challah cover or a Seder plate (even though its not exactly Passover…). For a baby , well for a baby it’s a bit hard but there are some great Hamsa pendants and brooches the parents can put on the newborn's crib.
